Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show will return to CBS on August 5 for its 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, where she was moderator as well as host. Her writing background was evident prior to becoming a host. Her desire was to write. In fact, it brought her an Emmy. The fact that she hosted an amazing entertainment talk show has earned her another Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events using the perspective of five hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News The Early Show's early morning news broadcast The Early Show for a decade. Prior to this, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor, and also anchor of the news segment for The Early Show. After 9/11 the news anchor was sent to Cairo and tracked down the lead hijacker's father for an intense and shocking interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania of Jordan, the former Defense Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities including Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program that profiled celebrities like Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves reported as anchor and reporter for WCBS-TV, a CBS-owned station that was based in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). In her final semester at University, she served as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as the director of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news service). As a desk assistant in the ABC News late night broadcast Nightline she was a part of the team that worked with Ted Koppel. He remains among her top journalists. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel to produce the Columbia du-Pont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focussed on the Los Angeles riots of '92.
